Wednesday’s Best MLB Player Prop Bets

    (Odds courtesy of FanDuel)

Byron Buxton Over 1.5 Total Bases (-115)

The Tigers will throw Keider Montero for tonight’s game against the Twins. Montero has been pretty awful over the last 30 days, specifically to righties.

Montero has allowed a .277 ISO and wOBA of .371 to his last 52 righties. He’s also given up more line drives and fly balls than ground balls induced against righties.

In addition, Montero has struck out only 15.4% of righties this season despite being a right-handed pitcher.

Byron Buxton, a right-handed hitter, is smashing a .431 ISO and wOBA of .484 against his last 58 righties. Buxton has limited ground balls to 23.1% and has launched 43.1% of fly balls in that time. He’s also hit 74.4% of hard contact and has used a 20.5% barrel percentage against righties over the last 30 days. This has all equaled to a .353 BABIP. Take Buxton to add at least two total bases tonight.

Elly De La Cruz Over 1.5 Total Bases (+105)

We’re picking on Shane Baz tonight.

Baz is a right-handed pitcher for the Rays. He has allowed a .242 ISO and wOBA of .456 to his last 38 lefties faced this season. Baz is a tremendous young pitcher with a lot of upside, but we might not see his full potential until next season.

Baz has allowed 34.6% of line drives and fly balls against lefties. He’s also earned just 23.1% of ground balls against lefties and has added only 18.4% of strikeouts against them.

The right-hander has also allowed 69.2% of hard contact and only averages 7.7% of swinging strikes against lefties.

Elly De La Cruz is a high strikeout threat. But he’s also slugged a .317 ISO and wOBA of .446 against his last 67 righties. The switch-hitting superstar has also smacked 33.3% of line drives and has earned a .486 BABIP over the previous month against righties. If De La Cruz connects, there’s a high probability it’ll go for extra bases against Baz.

    Tyler O’Neill Over 1.5 Total Bases (+115)

Tyler O’Neill loves facing lefties. The right-handed power slugger has earned a .357 ISO and wOBA of .426 against his last 31 lefties. While O’Neill has struck out 38.7% of the time against lefties, he’s facing Nestor Cortes, who has added just 15.3% of strikeouts against righties over the last month.

O’Neill has hit 50% of fly balls against lefties over the last 30 days. He’s also hit 75% of hard contact with a team-high 18.8% barrel percentage.

With Cortes allowing 35.2% of fly balls to righties this season, O’Neill looks really good on paper to add an extra-base hit against Cortes tonight.
